Dallo studio pubblicato sull\u2019Annuario scienza, tecnologia e societ\u00e0 2022<\/a> sull’opinione degli italiani sulle\u00a0 fonti di informazione scientifica emerge una significativa diffidenza verso i social network come canale per ricevere notizie legate a scienza, tecnologia, medicina e salute.<\/p>\n

Il rapporto raccoglie dati sulla percezione della credibilit\u00e0 delle informazioni scientifiche provenienti da diverse fonti e o\ufb00re interessanti spunti \u00a0sul rapporto degli italiani con i social network.<\/p>\n

Nella “classifica per credibilit\u00e0” le notizie su scienza e tecnologia, medicina e salute di\ufb00use\u00a0attraverso la televisione e la radio occupano il primo posto. Al secondo posto ci sono le informazioni provenienti dai siti web delle istituzioni, mentre al terzo posto si collocano le notizie pubblicate dalla stampa, sia cartacea che online. In netto contrasto, le notizie di\ufb00use attraverso i social network sono considerate le meno credibili, con una percentuale di fiducia che scende al di sotto del 30%.<\/p>\n

Il dato pi\u00f9 rilevante \u00e8 che il 58% della popolazione italiana ritiene poco o per nulla credibili le notizie di\ufb00use tramite i social network.<\/p>\n

Tuttavia, questo scetticismo non impedisce al pubblico di essere attento \u00a0ad analizzare la fonte delle informazioni e di attribuire la responsabilit\u00e0 della di\ufb00usione di notizie poco credibili.<\/p>\n

Per valutare l’affidabilit\u00e0 di una notizia scientifica di\ufb00usa attraverso i social network, pi\u00f9 di due cittadini su cinque prestano attenzione alla fonte da cui proviene la notizia, mentre uno su cinque cerca altre fonti che hanno riportato la stessa informazione.<\/p>\n

Ci\u00f2 che emerge come un dato interessante \u00e8 che non \u00e8 tanto l’et\u00e0 degli italiani e il loro livello di esposizione alla scienza nei media ad in\ufb02uire sul considerare attentamente la fonte, quanto il loro livello di istruzione.<\/p>\n

Quando si tratta di attribuire la responsabilit\u00e0 della di\ufb00usione di notizie poco credibili \u00a0su scienza e tecnologia, medicina o salute, i cittadini individuano principalmente i giornalisti e le persone che condividono tali notizie sui social network come i principali responsabili. Circa un intervistato su cinque crede che siano i social network stessi e il loro funzionamento ad alimentare la di\ufb00usione di disinformazione, mentre meno del 10% attribuisce questa responsabilit\u00e0 a medici e ricercatori.<\/p>\n

\u00c8 interessante notare che le persone anziane e meno istruite tendono ad attribuire maggiore responsabilit\u00e0 ai giornalisti, mentre coloro che sono pi\u00f9 esposti alla scienza nei media ritengono che le persone che condividono notizie sui social network siano i principali responsabili della di\ufb00usione di informazioni poco credibili.<\/p>\n

In un’epoca in cui la divulgazione scientifica \u00e8 essenziale per il progresso e la comprensione del mondo, \u00e8 evidente che i social network dovranno a\ufb00rontare difficolt\u00e0 significative per guadagnare la fiducia del pubblico italiano come fonte affidabile di informazioni scientifiche e tecnologiche.<\/p>\n
